Single Mother, Sally Pye (with a Y), yearned to be the perfect blend of Mary Poppins and Mrs. Doubtfire, instead of the overbearing, overstimulated, borderline psycho which Motherhood seemed to awaken in her.
Determined to do better for her two adorable boys, when the going got tough, instead of shouting and stomping and slamming, Sally would spout spontaneous silly songs and stories to lighten the mood and turn frowns upside down. It quickly became a go-to in her parenting toolbox.
There were oodles and noodles of witty ditties and naughty nursery rhymes over the years, but 'Mummy Eats A Gummy' was the only one that stuck, and Sally decided that one day, she would ike to turn it into a children's picture book.
Fast forward a few years, and the universe (with the help of the internet) decided it was time to introduce Sally Pye to Kevin Peake.
Tantalizingly talented and yet marvelously modest, after hearing all about 'Mummy Eats A Gummy' during a late-night tipsy telephone call, Kevin sent Sally some preliminary sketches of Mummy. Sally was tickled pink and slightly smitten to say the least.
After a year-long Shakespearean-style saga, Sally Pye and Kevin Peake have finally delivered their firstborn book.
Welcome to the world of 'Mummy Eats A Gummy', where the ordinary becomes the extraordinary and the mundane becomes magical.
